“Yes she
loves me”. Sameer couldn’t believe it was real. Shikha had finally confessed
her love for him.
And here
they were on their first date. Giving them company was “Hamara Bajaj” and a
soft drizzle.
Shikha,
sitting on the back seat of the scooter, had accelerated her dream engine and
was already time travelling to “lived happily ever after” tomorrows.
She saw
the rear glass, and caught Sameer’s eyes. That look and the endearing smile
told a million tales.
Vrroommm…
came the crash and she was robbed of everything, but the shadow of his smile,
to haunt her forever.
This is in response to the below prompt:
Aww!! why did it have to end on a sad note...I was enjoying Shikha's trip and her dreams :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good one for the prompt! Cheers :)

DeleteThat was tragic. Teaches you to look on the roads when you are driving :P
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, I loved the way you have combined a lot of words, giving away so much yet leaving us to imagine and fill the gaps..Lovely!

DeleteHo God!!!!! Worst nightmare of somebodys life....
ReplyDeleteThat made my hair stand on edge - the person I wrote about in my post for the prompt, died in a motorbike crash. I remember the shadow of his smile. Thanks for writing on my prompt.
ReplyDeleteDats so shocking to know... Wherever he is...he would be looking down today and shining in smile...Thanks for the prompt..now when we know the roots of that thought ...it is much more meaningful.
DeleteYou managed that in 100 words! I am amazed. I am always looking out for drabbles (100 word stories) they always surprise me in terms of concepts. This one too did the same. I cannot believe someone can relate shadow of a smile to this. What a take on prompt woman!
